Our volunteers are available Monday through Friday from 10 am to 4 pm.
Genealogy Room Volunteers are temporarily not available in person at the Mid-County Regional Library. You can leave a request for assistance at 941-613-3162 and a volunteer will contact you by phone. We look forward to helping you.

- Ancestry for Libraries
- (For in-library use only)
- Generations Online
- Generations Online is dedicated to enhancing communication among generations by promoting Internet access and literacy to elders.
- Heritage Quest
- provides libraries with a collection of research materials tracing family history. The Genealogy & Local History Collection contains over 25,000 digitized family and local history books, every word searchable. The page images and corresponding indexes for the entire Federal Census, 1790-1930 are included.
- Interlibrary Loan
- If you cannot find an item you are looking for in our catalog we can request it from another library system by filling out the interlibrary loan form.
We also have a shelf of books that can be checked out and read at home.
