The Mid-County Regional Library is temporarily closed due to Hurricane Ian.

CCGSI classes and meetings are being held at the Punta Gorda Charlotte Library
at 401 Shreve St., Punta Gorda FL 33950.

 
 
The genealogy book collection being stored offsite and is being evaluated for damage.
All resources from the Mid-County Regional Library are unavailable until the County
can identify and implement an alternate location where they may be accessed.

    • (For in-library use only) Access census data, vital records, directories, photos, and more
       
  • Heritage Quest
    • (requires a Charlotte Library card number for access) Provides libraries with a collection of research materials tracing family history. The Genealogy & Local History Collection contains over 25,000 digitized family and local history books, every word searchable. The page images and corresponding indexes for the entire Federal Census, 1790-1930 are included.
       
  • NewspaperArchive (Florida Only)
    • Explore your family history and discover key historical events with NewspaperArchive.com, one of the world's largest online newspaper archives. This subscription includes hundreds of Florida newspapers. 
       
  • Port Charlotte Sun
    • Browse and search the Port Charlotte Sun newspaper issues going back to June 2013
       
  • Interlibrary Loan
    • If you cannot find an item you are looking for in our catalog we can request it from another library system by filling out the interlibrary loan form.
